I have a '97 Civic EX with sparco seats and 4-point harnesses. I want to know if these are safe or not to have on the street without a rollbar(for crashes, and side impact in particular). I bought them a long time ago when I didnt really know what the hell I was doing and I question if they are even as safe as stock.

I have searched and read opinions going both ways and just looking for a little clearer direction.

Also - If they aren't safe, what could I do to make them safe?

 

ditch the 4 points,

racing seats + 4 pt harness + no roll bar = bad
racing seats + stock seatbelts+ no roll bar = ok
