9005 to 9006 conversion.. will it melt wire harness and how long will it last?
ok, i searched and didn't really find what i was looking for. i have a pair of 9005 sitting around. today, i got bored and i converted it to fit into my low beams. it is brighter than the 9005 i have in now. now my question is that will it melt or damage my wire harness? second, i need to know how long these coverted bulbs will last? some people tell me that they last for 1 year or so. i also heard that some only last for less than 6 months.. i drive a bit much at nights. so anyone with any experiences on this conversion or running it, can help me out it would be great.
thanks

I have it on my V6 6th gen and no melted wires yet. Im using some cheapo ones off ebay.
Its been like maybe 4-6 months now.

I think the reason they don't last as long is because it uses more power and causes the filament to burn out quicker since 9005's are normally for high beams.

Yeah I wanted to know about this but no one would answer me so I just bought some Farenheit 9006 bulbs that are a lot better than stock but I may try this conversion next time I need bulbs as I only have a spare set of stock 9005's and I can't stand the yellow color I like the really bright white ones but not the blue ones that actually make it so you cant see worth a damn and annoy the hell out of people.
