OBD0 Knock sensor questions
I recently swapped in a b16 from Osaka motors ( no broken sensors
) and theres a few things I wanna say.
1) vtec pwns j00
2) I beat an evo eariler tonight
heh, question time. ECU ( PR3 ) throws a code 23. Knock sensor, but it only throws the code during the day. Ive rechecked all the wiring and everything matchs up. The weird thing is that it doesnt throw the code at night.. Only during the day, and vtec still kicks in even though its a vtec code. It comes on randomly, ive tried resetting it numerous times..
Thoughts?

i'm herd of instances where the EFI (electromagnetic feild interferiance) generated by the curent in ur hedlights goes into the knocksensor wire at the firewall bundle and gives the ecu a crazy signal so it thorws a code. try running the car with out hedlights
at night. i know it's crazy but i'd bet u woulding get a code if that works u can try puting a shealded wire on to protect against EFI

having same problems...had the code for over a year now, even replaced my knock sensor. Funny thing, I had my knock sensor hooked up temporarily strapped inside the car and grounded, no codes for about 6 months...had car dynotuned, then knock sensor code appeared. Permanently installed the knock sensor to the block, replaced with shielded wires, still get code. Another weird thing, the knock sensor code appears only when the motor is hot...like when I start the car in the morning on my way to work, no codes up until I drive a few blocks away and my temp gauge goes up a notch, then the knock sensor code appears.
*set up, lsvtec motor, ecu (PR3/Stage2 Hondata)

He's not getting the code at night... only during the day.
I think you got it backwards.

Sure you can but make sure the fuel maps and what not matches your set up or you'll be wasting your money... FYI, I started out with a mugen chipped PR3 and ended up selling it for a Stage 2 Hondata...My car was dynoed at 165whp on the chipped pr3 and 192 on the Hondata (CTR cams) last year...

I'll try to contact Hondata and find out whats up...it seems that this has been an issue (not really a problem) in PR3/Hondata combo...Besides the annoying check engine light, my car runs fine.
