special order RSX
If i wanted to go out and buy a RSX tomorrow, a 2005, with the Jade Green metallic exterior color, but wanted the black interior, would they be able to special order it for me?
The reason i ask this is because on the Acura website, under the Jade Green exterior color, the only option they have is the beige color interior. What you guys think? would it be an extra cost to me if i did that?

Because the car is not built in America. Hardly any Japanese company has a lot of choices. Honda has never been one to have options--just differernt trim levels and a bunch of add-on parts (foglights, different wheels, etc).

i have an 03 dsm type s, i asked them if they could swap out n give me fabric when i first bought the car, they said they could do it, but it would cost big cheese

Well this has been a major issue among some RSX owners. Main reason why? Because the beige color sucks *** and the damn leather sucks even more. Leather is giving to all type S's no matter what you want and the color of interior you get is what you get no difference.
When I first bought my type S I asked my sale's person if I could change the interior out and he had said no. I even ask the owner of bell acura( I knew the guy) and he said that acura just sends the cars and they have no say in what colors they get and that swapping interior was no even spoken about.
I had asked to switch the leather out for base rsx seats and they said no.
If you dont like something you will have to change it yourself bro. Just look for a totalled rsx with the interior color you want and go from there or if you have a huge wallet get the parts from the dealer.
I hate my leather seats ( arizona is a killer) so I am switching them out for bucket seats soon. Maybe the Recaro pole position.

what kind of dumb **** is that, see, every car company has its quirks, but at the same time, you'd think that it wouldnt be too hard to give the option of either beige or black to the interior? right? or am I wrong?
I figure after 2 years someone somewhere would have recorded exactly what it is that falls under the category --- "popular demand"?

the only way a honda or acura dealer could do that is if you order all the interior pieces you wanted to switch out from parts. then you are still paying an arm and a leg for all the parts cause they are from honda/acura, and you still have your interior that came in your car.
i work at honda, i've checked into it. it would be a better idea to just buy the car with the interior color you want and then paint the car the color of your choice, and no, honda wont do that either.

Not dumb really. It's called smart business. They make the cars come with certain color interiors so that they can do massive runs without making to many changes. This is how they maximize profit.
You may complain about the interior but you also get another 5 who like it.
Not enough complaints to change the interior.
If the dealership gave everyone the option to choose what they wanted they would end up spending more money on making one car and extra time for that specific car.
In the end it does not matter what the few people who have issues with the car think because they will just tell you to get a different color car to get the interior you want.
In the end it's just easier and cheaper to get aftermarket seats and have the interior re-done the way you want it.

When you buy most cars you can normally have the dealer change the interior from normal material to leather. I don't see why you can't just pay more and have the dealer/their upholstery place do this? My mom wants leather in her CR-V, CR-V's don't have leather, under $1000 and 2 days to convert it.
Just an example. Also I think the RSX doesn't have that type of option is because if there were options the car would probably cost more to build. Probably why you have to have a moonroof.

thats a true genius idea, i remember a friend of mine got that done in his accord some time back, i think i might look into that, but do you think its the same quality leather that comes from the factory?
i think i'll go with black exterior and black interior, i think i'll just go with what they have, you have all made intelligent points and i guess i cant always have what i want, its a shame there isnt one jade green metallic coupe in the U.S for sale with black interior...

What the dealer is probably doing though, when you ask to switch the interior out, their basically just charging you for brand new interior pieces, pretty much your buying the cloth interior from Acura and they'll put it in and take your leather,
