i have a B16 Sir2 motor in my crx. it is throwing code 17. what is code 17 and how can i fix it. please help fast. does anyone have the whole code sheet? if so that would be nice.

 

A 17 is a VSS code. That means your speedo is not working.. Is your speedo working when your going down the road? I bet your not hitting vtec either.

 

it got chewed up and i don't know how it happened. nothing on the car really works. i pulled the wiring harness out and i'm going from there.

would that effect the rest of my gauge cluster. i can deal without a speddo.

No speedo, no vtec.

 

I'm I missing something here?

Are you running the stock cable drive type VSS or did you convert to an eletronic tranny mounted VSS and switch out gauge clusters?

Puling out the wiring harness seems really extremeto me especially since you haven't figured out exactly where you should start to fix this problem.

Questions -
does your speedo work or not?
Do you know if you are using the stock VSS system with the cable drive OR have you converted to the electronic VSS in the tranny and a different gauage cluster?

 

im running stock speedo and i took the wiring harness out because it is all spagettied togethor
