Default Hey is this a good deal?

A person hit me up recently asking if a wanted a LS motor for 500. He said it came with everything except the tranny. He said the motor is legit and has 120,000 miles on it. Do you guys think this is a good deal. i don't know anything about motors so let me know. thanks !!

What are you plans? Do you just want it to keep stock? Do you want it to build up?

edit: i forgot how cheap these motors are. They're a dime a dozen. So just go w/a cheaper, lower mileage one.

you can get a better deal from a dealer with lower miles.....be cautious when buying a very used motor from a private seller unless you know the guy.

I agree...I know people who have been screwed when buying higher milage motors from random people. I would try calling around to different salvage yards, if you look around long enough you can usually find a good deal on what you need (most of the time with a warranty also).

geez i wish they were a "dime a dozen" out here in cali. even the LS engines are kinda pricey for what they are.

It's up to you, but before you dicide have a website for you. Venus-auto.com,
everything this guy has is is straight from japan. just both a b16 long block from for 600 without the tranny. Only thing you need to drive to sacramento, but he ships also.

Damn... I paid 700 for my entire car... Nothing significantly wrong with it, and it is a 2 door 91 LS hatch body, with a b18b dropped in with 126,000 miles on it. Just had to ****** that up, in fact just did get it like a month ago.
