I tryin to hook up my nos but there are 4 wires I know the black is ground but what are three 1white 2green 3red what do they go to? please help me.

where does the wires come from? what parts do you have where you can connect the wires with? maybe some documentation would help.

on the relay to the nitrous oxide system there are the colored wires

 

on the relay you will have pins 85 and 86 depending on how you will be triggering the relay one side needs power and the other ground. assuming you will be using the relay to switch 12 volts pin 30 will go to 12 volts and 87 will go to the solinoid and the other side of the solinoid will go to ground.

on a relais you have allways 4 wires.

two are for the low-current circuit and the other two are for the high-current circuit. In your case the high-current part is that you have to connect to the solenoid that opens the nos.

the low-current circuit is in series with any kind of switch from +12v against ground.

thats everything, should be no problem... the only thing you must find out is what pin is what, but thats different from relais to relais.

OK most of that made sense to me, but one question is what does 87a do? Nothing? Also Im running two solinoids so should I run them in series? That just doesnt sound like a good idea to me. Another thing when you say "one side needs power" is that to a switch? Your help is appreciated.

 

If you run two solenoids, that sounds like two nos stages to me, in this case you have to use a second relais with a secons switch so activate the second stage. if you want them both engaged at the same time then connect the both solenoids PARALLEL in series with the relais so the way for the current is like following:

+12v -> Relais high current pin 1 -> throu the relais -> and then to the two solenoids parallel connected to ground.
