Anyone have a type r muffler with 2.25" piping? How does it sound? Any fitment problems?

 

well i think the type r muffler has the 2.25" piping, i have it on my car. I've heard the jdm one is a little bigger though. it isn't loud at all. sounds like stock until you step on the gas. i have a header and hi flow cat so it get a little louder then stock. it's a little restrictive then moft after market mufflers though, but it's better then any gsr and ls.

 

i ran the itr muffler with the stock itr piping and a test pipe its was pretty nice, then i upgraded

 

As posted above, the USDM ITR catback has 2.25" piping, except that it bottlenecks at the ends. You can easily have the bottlenecks removed at any muffler shop. But in it's stock form, the catback was a direct fit on my LS. Note though, if you have a 94-99 GSR, you'll be required to modify the catback.
