Weird trans/clutch issue...
Daily driving, I really never rev over 5000 or so, and the car drives perfectly fine.
So, the other day I was on some back country highway roads and decided to "clean the carbon" out and redline her a few times (94 gsr engine/trans) and a problem arose; whenever I rev to around 6000 or over, I can't shift into a higher gear. It feels like the shifter is "stuck" in that particular gear and if I wanted to take it out, I would have to pull *really* hard, which I didn't want to do. At that point I have to just let off the throttle and let the engine wind down, which it does at what I would call a "strange" rate of speed (having a 9lb flywheel, it seems to go down slower than normal) and then I can depress the clutch pedal and shift into the next gear.
The transmission is filled with fairly new fluid and the clutch resevoir is full, though I haven't bled it or anything in a long time. The clutch is an Exedy organic with around 30,000 miles on it.
Any ideas?
