JDM Engines
There is this arrogant *** hole who tells everyone he has a J-spec B16A3 in his Del Sol. What ways can I go about to find out if his accusations are true? His VIN is B16A32302134HM. Thanks.
you mean thats the block number, not VIN. anyways, above that it says "B16A3" in big numbers right? well, right there that tells you its not a JDM motor. Japanese have no numeric coding after the engine type on the block stamp. Ex: US GSR motor = b18c1, japanese GSR motor = b18c. hope that helps

because all B16a engines are built in Japan

JDM engines do not have suffixes like here in the US.
B16A and B18C
even the Type R is stamped B18CUS versions are: B16A3, B16A2, B18C1, B18C5
