JDM roof is the same as the USDM roof. There is however a roof made by Ameripool that turns the targa into a sunroof. Read on http://www.automotivetech.org for "JDM" and the real JDM stuff.

some jdm targa roofs are automatic
push a button, the trunk slides up, roof slides back, trunk goes down
google search and you will find it
very hard to find if not impossible

i heard from several people that the JDM automatic targa is impossible to simply buy and swap into a USDM sol or one that was never installed with it. putting it in would be more like a full rear-end conversion.

The del Sol roof only weights like 27 lbs lol. Why do you need 2 people to do it? I've taken it off at stoplights by myself before.

Yeah. I think the figure I've seen tossed around is $3000 - without install. Definately not worthwhile, IMO.

By complete I mean entire car with front end collision

TransTop was like a $3000 option for non-North American del Sols. Unfortunately, it adds a significant amount of weight, and I don't know if it is possible to retrofit to a USDM del Sol without doing a complete rear-end clip swap.

As oposed to the tinting? I'd persoanlyl much rather have the tinting to block out the sun. Though clear would be nice with an insert in addition.

Nah, that'd be a bad idea.

I have never seen roof glass that wasn't tinted. All OEM Honda mooroof panels are tinted, and as far as I know, every other make tints their roof glass too.

This is done for a reason - to protect from the sun. In the case of the del Sol, if you wanted it "clear" you'd just take the roof off.
