Default skunk 2 IM what is the diff.

Ok so a friend of mine says he has a skunk 2 IM for my GSR, but then he said it's for all b-series. Correct me if im wronge but isnt there a diff. between the IM that goes on the b16,b18b,b17, and b18c5 and the gsr or do they all fit? He said it was on a type r or b16 cant remember.

The Skunk2 IM for the B-series VTEC heads is different than the IM for the b-series NON-VTEC heads.

The VTEC IM's are intechangeable with each other.

You can interchange the IM's for the non-vtec heads with each other as well.

But you can't mix VTEC & NON-VTEC.

Make sense?

SKUNK2 RACING INTAKE MANIFOLD FOR 88-01 B16A-B / B17A / B18C5
S2-307-05-0290

SKUNK2 RACING INTAKE MANIFOLD FOR 90-01 LS/RS (B18A-B) / 97-01 CRV (B20B)
S2-307-05-0280

SKUNK2 RACING INTAKE MANIFOLD FOR 94-01 GSR (B18C1)
S2-307-05-0270

Just from this, I'd say that the gsr is different from the other vtec motors, and both the vtec models are different from the non-vtec models.

The one that will fit the LS and B20 head will not fit anything else.

The one that fits the B18C1 will not fit anything else.

The one that fits the B16, the B17, and the B18C5 will not fit anything else.

The only exceptions to this rule are if you swap heads with something else.

Just letting you know, but i would not get that manifold unless you have other work on your car done. Otherwise the stock makes better power.

a.k.a Headwork and/or forced induction is when you can fully benefit the intake manifold.
The only big difference there is in the IM is bigger runners and a 64mm opening for the throttle. I got the IM and i cant really feel a big difference.

yup don't get it unless you have some other work done or you will loose serious low end and will loose top end too but not as much as low end..
