dont mess wit it, get a true JDM DOHC ZC, i had an integra ZC in my hatch and it was alright but nowhere near as fast as it should of been with a real DOHC ZC. JDM DOHC ZC is 130hp the 89 integra ZC i had is like 115 120 hp
As far as I know, the d16a1 is a 110hp engine off a 86-87 Integra and not a direct drop in due to the location of the mounts. Be careful of using the ECU from a 86-87 Integra on a OBD0 engine since they use vaccum advanced timing.

its more of a bolt in for 84-87 civic/crx.... it wont bolt into anything 88+ as the engine mount and 3 tranny mounts are different.
i have heard that the 88+ dseries engines will bolt to the d16a1 tranny, but ive never seen it before. but that still wont help you at all...

First, can you bolt it into WHAT??? Your lawnmower? No. That being said, there were two different D16A1 engines in the US. The D16A1 in 86-87 USDM Integras had vacuum advance ignition and 113hp. The D16A1 in 88-89 USDM Integras had electronic advance ignition and 118hp. The D16A3 was a similar engine used in some non-US markets. They are both really only good for swapping into 84-87 Civics/CRXs. The engine mount locations are very different from all 88+ Civic/CRX engines/trannys and would be a major PITA to swap into one. If you try bolting a D16A1 to an 88+ d-series tranny you will find that one of the bellhousing bolts doesn't line up as well as one of the starter bolts.
Some friendly advice:
1) Do not EVER call a D16A1 a ZC! It is NOT the same. It is similar, yes, but NOT THE SAME!
2) Understand that there are MANY different ZC engines. Carbed ones, MPFI ones, dohc ones, sohc ones, non-vtec ones, vtec ones, pre-OBD, OBD0, OBD1, and OBD2 ones. If you don't say *exactly* which one you are talking about you will cause headaches for everyone and probably get flamed for it mercilessly.
3) Search before asking questions like this. It has already been discussed 100 times. Search for "D16A1" and read until you pass out. Repeat.
4) And please for the love of god think about what you really want answered before you post and BE SPECIFIC! See my first comment about "bolt it into what?" if you aren't sure what I mean.
Hope that helps.
