Flames out of the exust. ???????????????????
I was watching this japan Drift clip from kazaa, and it showed this car, spiting flames out the exust, when it shifts. I know rally cars have that miss firing sym. that makes it do it, but how is it done, and what do you need to run??? and is there any other way to make it happen when you shift other then the miss firing sym.??? that **** is bad ***.

yep, cuts the ignition for a second, and the unburned fuel goes through the exhaust to be lit at the same time the ignition was cut by a tail-pipe mounted spark plug.
At any rate, the flames you see on the vid's are induced from super-hot EVERYTHING, rich mixtures, high EGT's, and oxygen rich air being pulled into the exhaust from the end during downshifts/ shifts. those exhausts are really good at scavenging and retain heat well, things tend to get hot when beating on a 500whp+ turbo car, so throw some oxygen into the equation and you have fire.

Not to add, those cars are mostly on boost, its gonna be a different subject on how to make na cars do that naturally....
it just takes rich mixture! my weak LS was throwing flames at high rpm or between shift if i hit a revlimiter for a second.. would be a nice blue flame about a foot long.
oh the kits they sell have a seperate fuel line going into the exhaust that shoot the fuel into the exhaust, i don't believe cutting off the spark to the motor would be the best idea.. c'mon.. doesn't everyong watch pimp my ride on mtv?? they installed a kit (brand unknown) onto that mustang...

Most JGTC are turbocharged, most turbocharged engines like to be rich in fuel, combine that fuel in a serious hp car you are going to get some flameage.
Im not sure how to get one on a NA car, but ive heard straight piping helps.

Are these the same motors than are in your cars?
BTW, i have a video of these flames coming out of my exhaust in my old hatch. Does it have to be such a quick response ready and willing to flame, when all i was doing was making a point about his streetcar, as compared to you guys bringing in Racecars?
