how to tell wich tranny?
hey guys i am buying this GSR tranny, and the dude said it is a S80 and i was lookin on spec sheets and it sais that the s80 was also in a LS, how am i spose to determine that is it acutaly a gsr? i dont wana pay this much for a ls if you know what i mean thanks alot for the help...
GSR should be coded Y80
The JDM B18C could be mated with an S80 or Y80, but if he is saying it's a USDM GSR tranny I believe it should say Y80
look at this link for a table of trannies and engine codes they came in

If there is a VIN number on the tranny, you can see if it says DC2 or DB8.

or you could open it up and count the teeth on 3rd gear or the final drive.
