Default b18 vtec Vs H22

What is better i know an h22 cost significantly less than a b18c or c5, but b series r the shat! So what Would be the best suggestion, go with a b series engine in my 95 teg se or a H22?

Then again, you'll also spend a good chunk of money on mounts and a few peripheral components to fit the H22 in the Integra, plus it's a lot more work.

If it were me, I'd do the H22 though.

i dont know what it is; but boost and h series motors dont seem to mix. sure there are people doing it but this is just my opinion. id go bseries

if your going all motor and all you want is some more power w/ a swap go for a h22

its just really up to you. everyone is going to tell what they would do; you got to do what you want. its your car; not ht's.

hth

Well an h22 is going to have as much beggining horse power as a typer r b18c5 if not more for half the price, but i dont know how good the h22 motor is compared to the b series. if i do an h22 it would probably be all motor and then i might do an ls vtec with the original block i have in my se so? what u think about this idea?

This route could easily be as expensive or more expensive than an H22 swap, being that you'll have money invested in the head, then there's quite a list of things that need to be done with the bottom end before it's even close to "reliable." I love LS/VTEC's to death, but an improperly built one is only going to cause problems.

What is it that makes people like ls vtec? Quite frankly i dont see the difference between that and a b18 c? unless u use saya b16 head on a b18 block so u have the big displacment with a different head but over all idont see how a ls vtex could be any better than say a h22 pushing 200+ horse stock, plus wtf is up with this being cheaper than other b18 motors with not as much horse?

I say H22 because thats not a swap that I see too often around where I live. It may be a little more difficult to do, but if you work with it in the right ways, the outcome will be worth it.

since you alread said <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Acutang &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> but b series r the shat! </TD></TR></TABLE> why ask which would be better?

But since you have a 95 Integra i would put the H22 in there. Reason being your integra is pretty heavy and if you put the H22 in it would feel a bit better since it does have more torque.

it really depends on your preference

reason is the bad ringlands but some people here have got some good numbers with stock h22 blocks and boost. Also.....its nothing a good set of sleeves and pistons cant fix

The reason i like b series is cause they r so easy to work with and are amazing motors. ive heard with the R/s you get out of a Ls vetec can be bad causing it to be less reliable. But ive been checking websites to find the best engine so far this looks the best DH-racing.com they have brand new engines they r selling they look pretty high quality as well! what u say?
