Do I need a camber kit?
Went to get an alignment today.. They told me that I need 3 camber kits in order to get an alignment. see pics below.
Here is the problem, they said it will cost me $550 labor + parts to get it fix and aligned.

The car is way too low.. so I am getting Omni Power coilover kit (street edition) just wondering if I set it to Type R stock height, will I still need a camber kit? About how much is it to install? Cause I want to have an idea..
I estimated it probably cost me $1000 to get it installed... Might as well do that. that way i don't need a second car...
Please give me your opinions. thanks. all.
from the pic above, is My R Drive-able if I don't get it fixed asap?

Camber isn't such a bad thing, ya know. As long as caster and tow are in spec, then a little too much camber won't hurt anything.
Raise the car a touch and camber will return closer to normal. Sounds like the place that looked at your car is trying to make some coin off of you.

They freaking charged me anyways for the alignment I didn't get..I am pissed off.
I can't raise the car, since it's on lowered springs.. they are cut..
that is why i need to get omni power coilover.
So u guys think the coilover is worth my money? Right now it hits every bump i go on.
thanks for the help.

At least buy some quality springs (H&R, Neuspeed) or a Ground Control/Koni setup and get off the cut springs. You don't need to spend $1K + on a coilover setup if you are just driving around on the street.
Cutting springs to lower is bad in so, so many ways.

Bought the car like that.
Well, I need the suspension to be adjustable. hate to go throught 20 autoshop to find a place that has lift for my car.

Fair 'nuff.
But you dont need a camber kit for less than 2.5-3 deg of camber. The omnipower kit seems to be a good buy @ $650.

The Omni Power seems to be a good choice for the money to meet your need (street driving, height adjustable).
Your ride height does not need to be same as a stock R. Just set it at a height that you think looks good and acceptable for street driving BEFORE you set the alignment. Ride height would change/screw up alignment so every time you change the height, have the alignment checked out. Good luck.

Listen to these guys. Fix the sus and get alignment.
Your toe is likely way off, which affects the camber, and wears tires. Unless you are severely lowered, you don't need a camber kit.
Best to align once you get the suspension and ride height where you want it.

Other way around
Lots of toe wears tires, not camber; and camber affects toe.

That's a pretty weird alignment. Must feel a little strange to drive.
The camber on the front I'm not worried about...it's not so bad, provided you can get the toe adjusted...and you appear to be saying that they cannot.
The toe out in the rear, combined with that weird toe in the front...I dunno...I'm just glad it's you driving the car and not me. LOL....
Also very strange you have that much camber on the right rear, and nothing on the left. I wonder how much camber's on the left rear with you in the car, but I'm sure whatever you weigh it doesn't add two degrees.
As a couple of others have said, for a one-stop solution to your problems, you're probably going to spend less money with the Omnipower coilovers than anything else you could do. He's been selling them to DC2 owners for a while, now, and I haven't heard the first complaint.
Very strange suspension you've got there.

actually camber wears tires very nicely too
if your camber is like this... / \ instead if like... | | that, then you will wear the middle inside edges of your tires down pretty fast.
i did it in my GSR.....whoops
2.5 inch drop, no camber kit

It is usually incorrect toe that wears tyres.
There are a lot of ITR track aficionados with camber in the 2.0-2.5 range, and they don't wear their tyres abnormally. They will have toe setting from zero to slightly toe out.
I think that you're going to have to get up around negative 4 degrees camber on the front of an ITR before you see wear that's related to camber and not an incorrect toe setting.
RJ is thinking that you felt that camber was wearing your tyres because it was what you could see that was different. I'm going to bet, as he evidently is, that your toe was pretty far out and you didn't necesarily know.

Yes, the car drive un-smooth now. I guess i haven't feel the real handling of type R yet.
I can't wait my omnipower to arrived and get them installed and aligned.

I forgot to mention, you DON'T need any kind of camber kit. Any DC2 that is reasonably lowered (not slammed) should not have any abnormal tire wear due to camber. You only need a camber kit when you want *more camber* for track applications (i.e. -3.5, -4.0).
Also remember, tire rolls on camber but scrubs on toe. So incorrect toe setting is what chew up the tires. Toe settings are adjustable in any stock DC2, you don't need to buy any kit to do that. If the shop tells you otherwise, they are lying.
