Default CKP (Code 4) Problem after setting timing

Well on my car. when I originally set the timing with my advanced timing gun. I did it wrong and set it so taht I was 30 degrees advance from TDC. but it ran and ran fine.. today I went to fix it and set it to 16 degrees timing. All of this is done doing the proper procedures and jumpnig the ecu. After I set it correctly. took jumper out. reset ecu. started car up. it would take multiple cranks before starting then when it did. it woudl throw a CEL almsot immediately and say code 4 on the ecu. How the heck could it have gone bad jsut donig the timing? So I changed distributors. rest ecu. exact same thing. CEL CKP Sensor.... So it's not the distributor. I checked the timnig belt etc. and the pulley and cam gears line up just fine. Anyone have any ideas? I can drive it. but once I bring it past 3,500 RPM's it will sputter and backfire(rev limit). I hear this is common because it's in limp mode or something.. my revs are also lower at idle cause of this now...

EDIT: Also I noticed even when jsut cruising my narrowband A/F reads lean so I had to add more fuel so it woudl say rich... Sry. my wideband A/F has not yet arrived but I don't doubt that narrowband reading lean is innacurate lol. I guess that makes sense sicne the CKP tells teh ecu how much fuel/timnig to put in.
