Default Crx weight strip down! BUMPERS!!

Recently i was at pick n pull ( a junk yard here) and picked up a metal bumper off the ground from a crx it was prolly 10 pounds...now the rear bumper i heard from japan is 30lbs lighter i guess cause really there isnt one just bumper supports right? well i was thinking...these cars are tin cans and if i got rear ended at 20mph in a rex its probably going to wrinkle my spare tire area anyway...so should i remove this metal bumper in the back? will my bumper cover bolt back up or do i need the metal bumper for anything? so what im saying is if i take that bastard off front and rear then will my bumper covers bolt back on im just not sure about the back i've never undone it..thatnks...oh any other weight applications you can think of beside interior

I currently have no front bumper support, you basically have to rig it on besides the bolts in the wheel well, as for the rear bumper, it can be done cause my bro did it. and for other weight loss, gut down your doors, scrape off the black tar **** sound deadening stuff under ur car and under ur compartment area. other than that, gutting ur interior is stupid unless its a full-drag car. and if ur car is a 90-91, look around for 88-89 doors, or take ur seatbelt stuff out and convert to pillar-mounted seatbelts found in 88-89.

The 89 has door mounted seat belts

It's only the '88 that has pillar-mounted

here's what ive done so far...i have 4 points so all my seatbelts in the doors are gone...i dont have my cargo trunk stuff in the rear(iwish i did but it didnt come with it! only weight like 20 pounds anyway i want it) i have lighter wheels and tires and maybe 8 pounds in less seat weight too...how much do the 88-89 doors weight compared to the 90-91 jut to know? anyone know how much the rear metal bumper weighs on a crx? now im trying to think about your front bumper you said your bro did. what from the bumper cover connects to the metal bumper? i mean if nothing connect to it then it shouldnt matter whether is there or not right? i have removed the front bumper cover before and seen no connections between them what so ever so i just dont understand where you said he had to rig it but let me know...

Kind of back from the dead but I made a thread about HF bumper supports, but not many people responded. Has anyone ever weighed their HF crx bumper before compared to so a dx/si/std bumper.

i couldnt weigh them, but the HF support weighs maybe 3 lbs total, it is little more than a hanger to hold up the plastic. Much lighter than the Si/Dx bumper.

So the bumper from japan weighs -10 lbs, interesting, I wonder if it would float away once its unbolted.

my friends 89 DX came w/ a Hf front support, he couldnt figure out why i was having so much trouble getting my i/C to fit, then i helped him pull his bumper off one day and was like WTF, no wonder, you have nothing in here!

My HF came with practically no bumper support, so I put on the one from my '89 with a little fabrication, it's a lot safer now.

the JDM rear is even lighter, more like the front HF above. basically three straps of metal. no pic of it available.
