91 accord lx 4dr problems
ok i have a 1991 accord lx. stock. i have but a stereo system in it. a couple of weekes ago. i blew the inline fuse on the 12v cable from my battery. i was pulling ot much juice. when i blew that. the car was running at the time but when it blew it died and the gas gauge turned from the full position to the empty. i tried to start it but it wouldnt start it just kept turning over. i shut it off for a couple of min. the gauge was still on the E. it wouldnt start. then i wait for and other couple of min. it started and gauge went to F. well i replace the fuse. and fixed the problem of pulling to much power. but now the car will suddenly die on me at random times. wheni come to a stop or when i am just driving downt he road. the gas gauge falls to empty and the car doesnt start. but every thing else works, the stereo, lights, all thing except the gas gauge and it wont start it just turns over. i replace the fuel filter becuase i was told that can plug up and since mine hadnt been changed in over 90,000 miles it was time anyway. but i replaced it and yet again i was driving and it died on me. the gas gauge still falling from the full to the empty spot. and it resulting in not starting. can any one provide me with some info and what i should check? and why this is happening?
yeah. it turned out that when i was installing my stereo system the bolt that i grounded it to was the same as the fuel gauge sending unit ground and the bolt was not tightened all the way and came loose and so when i would go in the right direction it would just come loose and unground. but yeah definetally check that if you are installing a stereo system.
