just bought a jdm type r cat for my civic with b18 swap. would it bolt right up to it? or do i need to do some custom work? thanks.

 

it will bolt right up. obviously you will need a new cat though

oh my mistake i read that wrong...i guess that means its time for bed..
anyways, the jdm itr cat is designed to accomodate the 2.5" collector of the jdm itr header, and the stock ls header has a 1.86" collector, so it won't fit properly

sure, you could just have a custom fabbed adapter to flare up to 2.5", but its almost not worth it since the jdm itr cat funnels down to a 2.25" connection on the other end. you might have issues with the exhaust leaking with an adapter too. your best bet would be to just buy a 2.25 carsound cat (which would be 2.25 on both ends)

 

i already have 2.5 inch piping without a cat, just wanted to quiet it down a bit more. thanks.
