Im lookin at the CP 12.5 compression pistons for my b18c1 do you guys think that would be to high for a somewhat daliy driven car or should I jus have custom 12.1 compression CP pistons made.

 

i know someone witha 16:1 C/R daily driven

 

i dont see why not but a good idea is to get forged rods also

So he can be like "you, I run 16:1 compression DD! I run 93 octane, but I can't give it more than 10% throttle or I detonate. See that guy over there with a stock LS motor with a turbo setup? Yea, so what if he makes 80 WHP more than me, and does it on pump gas with a stock block, I'm ALL MOTA YO!"

Don't waste money getting custom 12:1 pistons made. Run a set of OTS 11.5:1 pistons, although I'm sure 12.5:1 with hondata, cams, and tuning will be fine on pump gas.

 

Im most likely goin for crower billet titanium rods.

thats too much unless you retard the timing hella then you would just be wasting power..its better to have a lil lower cr than to high...id go with like 11.1 cr for a all motor set up...imo a street driven all motor 4cyl monster is cool but a bit of a waste of $$$....youll still get stomped by the fast domestics. Id do liek a 8.1cr with a fat turbo set up for street driven car. Youll make more hp and wont need to worry about big cams that lack low end power. Id also use ARP fastners and shot peen the rods and make sure the valve train is good.

 

don't listen to these people...you can run 12.5:1 compression daily and be fine.

do you have access to 93 and 94 octane? and i also suggest you go dyno tuning right as soon as u finish breaking it in. ALSO i suggest upgrading your fuel managment
