Default Help me make another tuff decision <^.^> Keep the new car or get the S4

ok this is kind of related to post https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1

I had to sell the R because of the insurance spike it had this year. i replaced it with a 2004 ex v6 6 speed with navi accord. Well after driving it for a while i REALLY miss the R. i knew i would but did not think this much. Getting the R back is out of the question or another one as well.

Well the accord is going back because of servere water mark etching in the paint. Where pushing them to just refund that loan if where luckey. But they will prolbey if anything switch out the car for a 2005. anyways heres my decsison

My dad owns a 2001.5 audi S4 in pear essence white. with 22k miles on it. Same miles as my R kinda weird. It used to be mine when i tried out real estate but that did not work out and my dad liked the car so i gave it to him. But hes SICK of shifting the 6spd in daily traffic plus he likes that the accord is a bigger car.

So with the option of switching the car to the 05 he could get a 4 door auto with navi and i could get his s4 insurance is strangley for me close to the same as the accord.

WHAT SHOULD I DO? i would love to get the awe GAIC chip in it like i wanted to when i had it. 68 hp and 70 tq from a chip is nice. 1200 to get a new ecu with it installed that way you can swap the ecus for any reason you might have.

the other car im thinking about thats a bit out of reach is the new 330ci with the m3 suspension interior and front bumber and wheels. pretty much a m3 - the 102 extra HP out o the motor.

Well let me know what you guys think.

go back to school to learn how to spell! or use the spell check feature? ( )

more likely, i'd just get a 2005 accord and be done with it. if you don't really miss the ITR/ don't think its much different than the accord, then you probably bought the car for more of a status symbol than anything else ...

the accord's ammenities are far greater anyhow.

What do I think you should do? Not look for advice/pretend you care about what anyone says on this board in regards to what car you should buy. If you seriously are so torn over the decision that you need people you don't even know over the internet to tell you what to do, you have problems.

Wow dude, settle down. Your life must suck.

I'd definately rock the S4. We had one for a company car & I loved it. Only complaints would be the extreme "notcheness" (lol not a word am I gonna get in trouble) of the shifter and the car needs a thicker rear sway.

Otherwise woot!

I bought myself an '00 s4 earlier this year.

Coming from a Honda, the shifter sucks *** - even with the B&M SS I have on it.

If you are looking for Honda reliability - don't get the S4. I haven't had any problems with mine, but do expect little things to break. Not to mention the ever pervesant turbo problems. Interior and daily driving torque are definite S4 high points. But there are those times when I miss having a car I could tinker with and not have to worry about expensive replacement parts.

Don't expect the S4 to handle like an R, it is a porky-*** car.

I am considering selling mine in the near future and getting an ITR. Maybe I am still too young to appreciate the car I have.

well i'm not trying to diss Audis (seeing i own a VW myself) but a friend of ours has ad very shitty luck with them. He's on his 3rd S4, one blew a MAF which caused the engine to run lean, blowing one of the turbo, so he sold it and got another, which blew a turbo because the wastegate was faulty on the pass. side turbo, over-spinning it and exploding the compressor, and now his 3rd one... so far nothing bad has happened. He got a chip, cat-back and Kumho MXs and he ran a 12.9 in the 1320. So meh... my .02

Very true, get the M3. The 2001.5 S4 sucks for handling, and has a lot of problems, the diverter valves, the f pipe, the k03 turbos blowing, weak transmissions etc.

I went from this

to this

after almost buying a 2001 S4. After reading the forums at http://www.audiworld.com and test driving a 2001 S4, I decided that it was not the car for me.

Get the M3, you won't regret it. I only miss one thing, Honda shifts are so smooth, M3 tranny is notchy, and every one I talk to says this is normal, including the dealer.

While I love the S4 and enjoyed the 2 years I had one, I'm really glad its gone. The cost and number of repairs was staggering!!!! Though I do miss the performance

I would recommend somthing more reliable unless you have loads of cash to spend on repairs.

You fools are looking at the wrong S4s. Those are the new ones, with the V8. The older one (which the poster is looking to possibly have) looks like this:

of corse i would love the nsx. even though its a bit small on the interior. im 6 4 after all.

Well before even reading the responses as i had a double and i was looking at the other one. Im not taking the S4. And the accord is going back to honda because of the paint problem end of story. so now im at where i was 3 months ago.

I would love a m3 like i would love a nsx or even a lambo for that matter but its out of my price range 50k+ is just to much for a car in my mind.

Its going to be in between a STI EVO or the 330ci with the performance package. those are the only 3 cars in my price range that i like. + the scooby/bmw has cruise control something the R never had ^^

Im going to test drive the m3 tomorrow they have a 2003 with 12k miles on it. But the price is still a bit high for my tastes
