Question about exhausts...
My setup is a JDM ITR motor in my CX hatch. I had 2.5" piping, no cat w/ an apexi n1. Got a ticket, and replaced it w/ a World Sport. Now the WS has 2.25" piping and it isn't straight through like the n1.
Now the car seems to pull a lot harder w/ the world sport. I mean I noticed a big difference all around. Why would this be. I thought I was going to lose power w/ the WS (cuz smaller piping and chambered muffler) but it was opposite. I'm not complaining but i'm just wondering why.
I know bigger piping isn't always better but...whatever just someone teach me something...

I think 2.5" is probably a little big for any all motor honda...no backpressure at all with an exhaust that size. You effectively unrestrict your top end that way but sacrifice low end torque and response. Going to a smaller one does the opposite...thats what your getting with the world sport.
he's not saying he feels a diff between stock exhaust system and a after market... he is saying he feels the difference between 2,5 pipin and 2.25 and i can know what hes saying because i had 2.5 on my old bubble wit a gsr, and then i got 2.25 and i felt alot more pep, but lost alittle top end.
yep, I'd say you're feeling the extra torque from additional backpressure that new exaust system is providing. On an all motor application a little backpressure is good. This is a good example that louder/bigger isn't better and your car can be fast, powerful and QUIET.
