Accord 98 V-6 Auto Tranmission Dip Stick Reading, please help
I'm a noob, so this question may sound stupid.
I just got my transmission flushed (90k), and now when I accelerate from first gear to second gear, once in a while there will be gear slipping. I read some manual that says that if there's too much trannie fluid, it may cause the failure mode I'm experiencing.
The first problem that I encounter is that the dip stick isn't the same as the manual displays. The dip stick in the manual, has a cross pattern as an indicator for the oil level, while my has three punched hole in the stick. One hole around one inch from the bottom, and the other two inches from the bottom, and the last one around 10 inches from the bottom. Can anyone tell me where the level is suppose to be? Between the first and second hole, or second and third hole?
Btw, I followed the manual guide on reading the oil level, run car, stop car, take out dip stick, clean it, put it back it, take it back out and read level on both side. The color right now is bright red, and the level is between the second and third hole, around two inches higher than the second hole.
Thanx in advance.

did you get it flushed for a reason. was the tranny fluid dirty dark or had a burn smell before you flushed it? its possible if your trans is slipping especially in lower gears that your trans is going out. shifting 1st to second on hard acceleration and if trans is slipping then you probably have trans problem. note that Honda has extended all 99-01 honda accords and odysseys transmision extention warranty to 100 thousand miles, 98 thru 2001 are the same model hardly any changes especially transmissions. Have a dealer checkit out for 80 to 100 dollars
