sry man, try a different dizzy, main relay is located by foot pedals above and behind hood release, has large 7 or 14 pin plug can't remember it's bolted to the door piller by 1 10mm bolt, do a search there's all kinds of info on how to fix it if that's it, check your grounds too
Since you ran out of gas and then started having problem it may be that the crud that gathers in the bottom of the gas tank got sucked up and clogged the fuel filter or the pump screen. check for fuel pressure up at the fuel rail.
Check the main relay - turn your ignition key to "ON" (not start) and listen for the fuel pump. It should whirrr for about 3 seconds and then stop. Your check engine light should turn off at that point. If you hear it then the main relay is working.

alright, lets try to narrow this down
you can hear your fuel pump prime, meaning main relay is good, have you checked the fuel filter? maybe try changing that, but before you do that try a few other things. turn the car to on, the fuel line to the fuel rail should be hard with pressure, if its soft, gas is not making to the fuel line. you should work your way backward from that point by replacing your fuel filter.
are you positive you have spark? pull one spark plugs out one at a time and ground it. have someone try to crank it over, are you getting spark? while the spark plug is out try to smell for fuel from the cylinder you have the spark plug out of. are you positive you haven't flooded the engine?
thats just a few things off the top of my head. good luck.
