I've been wanting to install a keyless entry on my 98 prelude. the chilton manual's wiring diagram leaves a lot to be desired. it would be easy to install inside the door, but there are other options with the system i bought(headlight flash, horn, interior light flash, etc.) and i need to install it by the kick panel and it's almost impossible to run wiring from the kick panel into the door. so does anyone have any idea where to find a good wiring diagram that list's all wires of the sourrounding area? or is there anyone that has installed a similar system on thier car? tia.

 

Get the helms manual....... it will have what you need.

It is a bit pricy, but the BEST money you can spend on the lude. It is what the honda dealerships use for service. You can also buy the CD on ebay for $10.

 

when I installed an alarm for the 5th gen, i didn't have to run any wires to the door. i got everything i needed in the drivers kick area.

 

what wires do you need to run into the door? all you need is the kick panel, unless you got the auto windows option also, in that case you need to run wires for the motor right?

 

search for "alarm install"
even if they're for a 4th gen, the wire colors may be the same. you should be able to access the door lock and unlock wires, and the headlight, parking light, and dome light wires all at the kick panel fuse box.
