Cut off the magnets and try reinstalling them, it will fit.

or post your question in the audio/security forum.

eclipse makes some bad *** speakers. the magnet should be getting in the way of anything, the bar should be removed if its hitting the magnet. if you remove the magnet the speaker wont work.

I was having the same problem so I made a bracket out of 1/4" MDF to raise the speaker. Basically its just a thick ring with screws that go right through the top which allows me to use washers to hold it against the frame. Its almost touching the trunk springs (black long rods). I'm using kicker rmb6 speakers which are 6.5". Works great

Dude, i had the same problem. The bar your talking about is the little spring system that assists the trunk when you open it so its not so heavy. I chose to take them out so i could fit my speakers, problem is the trunk is heavy as ****! Im lookin to find some little actuators that will open it for me but i still have found nothing

how much more space do you need? like a couple inches? if it isnt tooo much buy little washers from homedepo and put in some spacers. Or get some boston acoustics.

Lol...just checked my 2000 lude, apparently that was a design issue, because it sure as hell was fixed in 5th gens, lol.

do NOT cut anything or remove anything!

i had this same problem and its very easily (made me feel stupid) fixed by using the mounting cup from the stock speaker to install the new speaker, pulls everything right up on out of the way. you can also use the stock speaker-covers with this install as well.

edit::
is this your problem?

then, what i told you above will fix the prob. stock speaker bracket/mounts..whatever.

oh, yeah i forgot to mention that you might have to shave down the stock speaker cup a little with a dremel just to compensate for a wider magnet or speaker housing..whichever conflicts with it.. takes a little work but fits just fine in the end.

As was already mentioned, if they absolutely will not fit make a spacer with MDF and you are done.
