Do any of you think a full 3 inch exhaust is necessary for a 5th gen Prelude boosting 7lbs on a Gred
I want to know your opinions. I for one think it's not necessary, but a local performance shop who tuned my friends car said that he was not making any power due to his 2 1/4 inch piping while being tuned with a VAFC. He's got a stock motor with a small as turbo and they said he needed bigger piping. Hell, I know a DRAG kit aint much, but I had 2 1/2 inch piping and my numbers are on my sig and that wasn't even fine tuned. I just think he spent $900.00 a little to early into this thing, because he doesn't want to make so much power and blow his motor, so he say's.
Its definitely not necessary at that boost level. Sure you'll gain a little bit more power but it'll be obnoxious to drive around with. Not justifiable at that boost level IMO. Get a 2.5" and ditch the stock cat if he still has that bolted on.
If he is using GReddy - he will net some nasty boost spike with a 3" turbo back..
Stick with what he's got..

We'll he just told me he got a exhaust, along with the 3 inch piping for $900.00. They replaced his Apxi Dunk exhaust with an N1. His car only makes 180 something wheel horse power on an Apexi Power FC.
And yes it is on a Greddy Kit. I couldn't fit it all into the title.
