Default Running the Skunk 2 Stage 2 cams

I am ordering a set of skunk 2 stage 2 cams what else would be need to run these to maximize performance yet be good for everyday driving? It would help if i could get a list of products along with companies to check out. I know i will need new valvetrain but can i run stock valves, what compression do i need, what computer to go with, fuel upgrades, bottom end work such as pistons and rods, and do i need to port and polish?...these are a few of the questions that are running through my head...ANY help would be greatful. Thanks

You need at least an 11.5:1 compression ratio to benefit from those cams over the Stage 1's. Stock valves will be fine, but a valve spring upgrade is a must. You will need your ecu reprogrammed with something such as hondata, aem, uberdata, etc. A vafc won't cut it.

I'm also planning for a skunk 2 stage 2 cams set up...me and my nephew is working on getting all my parts,
a little list of things for the best for those cams.
-good high compression pistons (i'm going CTR)
-arp head stup for all the power your gaining
-Arp rod bolt
-upgrad valve spring, valves, and retainers
-adjustable cam gears
-new water pump, timing belt
-lost motion (optional, its for your vtec, if thats what you have)
Thats all i could remember now. but yea, the skunk 2 stage 2 are good, i hope mine will turn out to be great. the list above is what i'm reccomended to upgrade to. Just a suggestion to help you out

I have a b18c1 with Jun valvetrain while running skunk stg 2 manifold, usdm itr pistons.
I have dynoed the engine at 189.6whp with 135 ft lbs tq. I don't think a massive jump in compression is truly neccessary for these cams. Just tune them a bite on the dyno.

Yes get a valvetrain upgrade ( valves, retainers, springs, seats...the max)...also higher compression will give more horsepower...

if you're not planning on revving past your stock redline you can still use oem rods and just go with a higher comp piston, hell you can even go with a stock valvetrain, but you definetly need higher comp like everyone says 11.5 is the number everyone shoots for but that isnt just determined by pistons alone, I wouldnt run anything higher than 12.5 if you want to keep your car reliable. go with NEW OEM Stuff though, DONT reuse your old stuff you're better off just not going that route.

not true that you need 11.5 to run cams, i have spoken with one of the tech at skunk2 and they said anything above 11 is fine to run these type of cams why i know because i have them lol i am running about a 11.2 -11.3 comp and they are fine although they are right when they say the higher the comp the better that way you take advantage of what they are capable.valvetrain is a must to run these cams.
