I tried doing a search, but was unable to find anything...anyways I recently got an ecu from a friend, he said its off a type r, but Im not sure it is. The code is p73 ao4 is this a type r ecu?

 

yes, that code sounds correct,

but it sounds like a 00 or 01 ECU the A04 is the newer ones with the immobilizer if I am not mistaken.

if the Manufacturer is Keihin, it is 00 and 01 if is says Dairenken (something like that) it is the older one. Also you can tell by the size, if it is smaller, it is 00 or 01 if it is bigger, it is the older ones.

unless you got an 00 or 01 vehicle, the immoblilizer may give you problems.
