I finally came up on carpet for my ef hatch And i remember taking my buddies out of his car and there was some sort of paste in some places. What kind of paste do i use to install mine or do i need it at all. Any opinions? TIA

Super glue the whole back and lay it in

You shouldn't need any "paste", it should stay in place just fine by itself.

The OEM carpet is not glued down in ANY spot.

You don't need any 'paste'.

There are tabs that hold it in place under the rear seat, tabs that hold it in place against the firewall, and of course the carpet itself is attached to the door sills.

It's not glued.

If anything, the sound deadening melted into the jute padding and you think it's glue.

If that's not the case, somebody glued it.

I've stripped the carpet out of 8 different EF cars and I've never once seen it glued.

How would I go about replacing the carpet in my HB? Its pretty nasty in there and I'd rather just put some new(er) stuff in there....

Can I buy normal roll of automotive carpet and just lay it down? Or should I get the custom molded type??

When I replace mine I'm going to shell out $300 for brand new Honda carpet.

I HIGHLY recommend getting pre-moulded carpet! It will save you alot of headaches and it will look much better than using a flat piece of carpet and trying to make it fit (unless you're highly experienced in this field...).

If you want something to hold it down with then go to Lowes or whatever you have around you and get Waterproof outdoor carpet glue..It will stick very well and it wont come off...the only way thatyou can get it up is by using paint thinner
