Vibration!!!!
Can someone please help me figure out why my car is vibrating. Whenever at idle in gear it is making the whole car vibrate alot like it is shaking things in my car, also my car does this when taking turns slowly it drives fine but at a stop its a little shaky?
96 ex 4dr f22b1 i have 104k on the car and people have said tune up but i just had the cap rotor plugs and wires replaced so i have no idea and i just changed the oil last week with royal purple and i thougt something would help but its still rough!
What tranny?? Some years with automatic tranny the rear engine mount was vacuum-operated. It was supposed to get softer when idling IN GEAR. I don't know if they ever used those mounts with manual transmissions.

Assuming this system in your '96 is sorta close to my '98...?
Look down low in the center of the firewall. Should be a vacuum line going down to the engine mount. Follow it up, there should be a solenoid valve somewhere, & more vacuum line to the intake manifold.
Disconnect the line going down to the mount, & cap it's nipple on the solenoid valve. Use a MityVac to suck a vacuum on that line going down to the mount. Have someone hold the brakes & put it in gear. There should be a noticeable difference in vibration when you apply vacuum & release it. That checks the mount itself is OK.
(Turn off engine.) Take that solenoid valve off & make up jumpers to energize it from the battery. Make sure the valve works. I don't remember whether it's normally-open or normally-closed, but check it with the MityVac to see it change state.
Then use a multi-meter to check the wiring. One pin should be battery voltage from the main relay, so turn the key on (not start) & check each pin vs. ground. (Don't check the 2 pins against each other.)

those models always had bad frt mounts, you probably have a broken frt mount look in the frt bottom of radiator shine a light at a angle the rubber is either broken or missing. and if it is vibrating that much check the other three 2 on each side and the rear mount.
