idle speed
greetings,
my girlfriend has an 89 Accord LXi, its been a maintenance nitemare recently, and I'm trying what I can with my limited knowlege to keep it running. one thing I could use some help with, when at idle speeds (~600-700RPM) the car vibrates violently. I noticed today while playing around with it. that if I give it a little throttle, put it at about 900-1000 RPM it runs much much smoother. I was wondering if this car is old enough to be able to adjust the idle speed mechanically. I inspected the throttle plate and it looks like there is a screw type stop that determins how low the throttle will go, it looks very difficult to get to, but if I could, can I adjust this and try to bump the idle speed up a little? or is there any other way of doing it?
thanks!

exactly what I was hoping for. it looks to me like there is a nut on that screw, if I turn that will it adjust the idle? or is that just there to hold it in place? if there is a philips or a strait slot on that screw itself it must be on the bottom, because its not on the top. looks really hard to get to. but that's the answer I was looking for, thanks!
hmm... usually the idle adjustment screw isn't TOO hard to get to. actually, it's normally fairly easy. you can always try that one, but just remember how many turns you make, just in case. my '88 was carb'd... i don't know how they had it setup on the fuel injected ones, so i'm not sure how to describe what to look for.
