I have been running a Check Engine Light on my 02 EP-3. It has 105,xxx miles on it. I went to Advance Auto parts and used their computer and here is what the readout says.

DTC (Codes)

P0341
Camshaft Position
Sensor A - Bank 1
CKT Range/Perf

P0420
Catalyst Efficiency
Below Threshold
(Bank 1)

DTC Pending(Codes)

P0420
Catalyst Efficiency
Below Threshold
(Bank 1)

So, what does this mean? Are the two codes related? Do I simply need a new camshaft position sensor? Where is the camshaft position sensor?


The engine runs perfect. I recently changed the plugs and air filter (3-4mpg increase).
But it was giving me the check engine light off and on before I did the tune up.

P0341 is actually a problem with VTC.

you need a service manual if you don't already have one. worthwhile investment especially with high mileage

 

p0420 ... sounds like u got a busted cat
