Official Release of New Mugen Components for 2005 RSX
Hey everyone - I know some pictures have been posted from the Mugen Japanese site... so here is the official release for North America. This release is significant becuase there are parts designed specifically for the US market vehicle - a sign of many more good things to come in the future.
We are taking orders now for late October delivery!
You can get all of the details here:
http://www.kingmotorsports.com/05rsx.asp
Some specifics:
Exhaust Manifold and Catalytic Converter Kit
Utilizing full 304 Stainless construction the Mugen Exhaust Manifold and Catalytic converter combines high quality craftsmanship, performance, and good looks in one complete package. With a highly efficient catalytic converter and equal length 4-2-1 design Mugen was able to acheive significant torque gains from 5700-7700 rpm. To maintain exhaust gas velocity and smoothness Mugen incorporated a specially designed flange and also hand polished all joints in the primary set.

Direct Fit Active Gate Brake Rotor
These direct fit replacement rotors utilize three important features in design and construction:
1) Reverse Bench Configuration draws cooling air from the rotor interior which minimizes heat deformation. This design also minimizes the rotor’s static weight.
2) 5 Slot construction comes from hours of brake dyno testing and experience with the succesful JGTC racing series. The slots help keep the brake pad surface clean and also vent high temperature gas away from the braking surface.
3) A tough Rust Preventative Treatment is applied to assure durability and good external appearance.

Aero "S" Body Components
Make your RSX stand out with aggressive new styling from Mugen. The Aero S stlying components work from the factory lines resulting in a clean, yet aggressive, look for the RSX. The front under spoiler, side step kit, and rear under spoiler can be mixed and match with the Aero hood and adjustable rear wing for a personalized look.

That body kit is never going to sell well for the reason being that West Wings or another cheap bodie manufacture (spell check) will realease a knock-off and sell it for 4 times less the amount Mugens would cost (just look at all the EP3 fake Type Rs' around). Only the hardcore racers would buy the original for its functuality, but sad to say there arent many around.
do you know how much power the mugen exhaust manifold puts out? compared to like toda/comptech/dc/jr. I know some of them dont have catalyc converters, but just was curious how the mugen stacks up. Or even against the Spoon hedaer
Guys,
IM Clayton directly for prices. And please refrain from making negative comments in this thread. We encourage sponsors and manu. to post up new products that might be beneficial to us (as long as the thread does not include prices, although MSRP price listings are ok in some cases).
New stuff looks good though

That stuff looks great.
I'd LOVE a set of those license plate bolts but I just know they'd be gone in a heartbeat unless I managed to figure outa way to put locknuts on.... hey!
btw, does Mugen make a *real* license plate frame?

Thanks Todd. Honda-Tech was the first place we posted about the new products...
I understand about cheap knock-off body parts... believe me, I must take 5 or 10 calls per day about Mugen chips, Mugen front bumpers for CRX's, Mugen Rota wheels, that everyone sees on Ebay.
But to be honest, despite the price, we sell quite a bit of body work - there are still a lot of people who appreciate the quality and finish on the Mugen pieces. At least you know it is going to fit as good or better than the factory pieces.
Thanks

What is this? Still wondering what it is. Also mugen parts are very pricey but are well worth the money. Ever hear the term " you pay for what you get" or "quality over quantity"?
I wasn't knocking the kit, I just prefer the stock kit or a minor lip kit.

it says on the website (kingmotorsports.com) that the ebrake cover fits only a jdm dc5. my question is would it work on an EP3? i'm sure you could make it work on a US dc5 though right? thanks ahead of time though.
one more question, well, maybe two. the driver assist meters, do you have any pictures of that, or will you anytime soon? and the same question goes for the insulation tubing. thanks again

You can see pictures of the insulation tube on the Mugen site:

Just go to the parts section, then Hi-Performance Brake System. This should give you some idea what it looks like.

On the e-brake boot, for right now, we're listing it as JDM DC5 only. We have not had a chance to test fit it on other models.
No pics on the assist meters yet.
