Default Advise on A/C Compressor Clutch

The A/C clutch on my '90 Accord is no longer working. Has anyone had to replace this (assuming it's replacable)? Any tips on making it easy? I took a look at it from above, and it doesn't look very easy to get at. The Haynes manual I have is worthless--they claim that the A/C system is too terrifying for mere mortals and so they don't show or discuss it. Geeze...

PS: might be me, but the search engine here don't work too good.

At this age, your better off replacing the whole compressor and clutch assembly. Although, you can just change the clutch assembly. Its a lot of work and you need to do certain things to guarantee your AC system will retain its integrity. I replaced my 1994 Accord compressor and clutch assembly and the total cost was $900, about half of what a dealer or shop would ask to do the same job. The job too me the better part of a Saturday to do.
