The spring rates are the street rates of 12/8 (kg/mm).

This is a very common and very effective way to prevent slippage. The only reason anyone ever picked on the skunk2 A arms was because of the powder coat and sissy bolts/washers, its not a 'design' flaw - just bad choice of bolts and pain application
