i was just wonderin why all yall hate on dc sports and aem v2 intakes yeah i agree that the ceramic headers suck and r overpriced but the ss ones cant be that bad and not many companies make them for my little h23

 

i dunno how much we hate on them that much, but i think it has to deal with the fact that people will buy an AEM CAI and think they have the fastest car on the planet now. Honestly, the AEM CAI is probably the best, but for double the price, or even triple the price of a cheap-o intake with a nice filter, for only maybe .5 or 1HP more in gains is worth it.

as for the headers, no idea...but that is why i didnt get the AEM CAI, i will take the 200 dollars i saved and and put some neons on. because that is where you get your real gains.

Anyways, its basically peoples opinions, which you should never go by. I have a DC header and ive made 181whp with it, some people say if you "modify" the DC header its actually a good product. As far as AEM its nothing but a alluminum pipe witha K&N filter. You basically pay $200 for the filter. The same exact pipe can be bought on ebay for $30 and then go slap on a K&N of your own....wish i had done that........

 

i wish i wouldn't have gotten my aem cai though. its a great product but i just wasted my money since i'm going turbo. i got it before i started researching here on honda-tech.

same with my exhaust. i should've just saved my money and went straight to turbo.

before i started researching i was lead to believe that i can use my cai with a turbo and i thought i had a good exhaust but the piping is only 2.25 when i would need 3.0 or higher for turbo.

oh well just learn from mistakes.

 

i thought AEM bought out DC....

plus DC quit making all parts for a 4th gen and 5th gen ludes, so every part your buying is probably used.

 

their gains aren't cost effective. DC headers look all nice but their gains compare nothing to something a few hundred dollars more.

I'm gonna modify the collector and see what gains
I can get out of it though.

Exactly, thats why i got an aem cai, i NEEDED that EO number. luckily i got one used at a good price.

 

they are not bad at all, i mean dc is mainly for show but they work damn good for something that makes your car look great and run great at the same time. AEM makes good parts overall. i do not care what anyone says

CP Perofmrance has carb EO #s for most if nto all of their intakes.
I have used both AEM and CP and cant tell em apart witht he hood closed. I think AEM looks nicer with the coating on the piping, but id rather save teh money and sepnd i on other things.

 

Yep in the end its only an intake ... which won't give you any power anywas.
