help, Idle drops when AC is on after skunk2 install
Did a skunk2 install a few weeks ago, and I have a few weird kinks to work out.
This is what I changed on my 96 GSR:
Skunk2 manifold
new GSR IM gasket
JDM type R Throttle body
New Type R TB gasket
Type R throttle cable
type R TB bracket
Type R Rubber intake arm
Type R Fuel hose, (from fuel filter to fuel rail)
Changed fuel filter too
Car runs fine and idles great at 800-900 rpm WITHOUT AC ON.
When I turn on AC the idle drops really low like to 400-500rpm and the AC Compressor makes Clicking noises when the car is cold.
I tried cleaning the IACV with brake cleaner and replaced the O-ring gasket already, but no help. (It might be possible that I have a bad IACV, but I doubt it)
With the exception of the weird kink when the AC is on, the car runs great, Vtec kicks in as it should and no check engine lights.
If anyone has similar problems or knows how to fix it, that would be great.

Before I rebuilt my motor, my old B18B (with 100k mi) would have a reduced idle when the a/c was turned on. This just puts more lag on the crank-pulley, making the motor work a little harder to keep the same speeds. This also relates to decreased gas mileage with the a/c on. As far as the clicking goes, I really can't help you there. Bump for more answers.
well the clicking goes away when the car is warmed up, and it never did this before the skunk2 install.
Thing is I never adjusted the idle air screw on the TB, cause it was covered with Gray Paint and never touched. I was worried that I would screw up the default setting, so I never messed with it.
But if it will fix my problem I would try it. but only if I knew this was the cause.
let me know if you guys have any more ideas what it could be.
Thx.
