GSR or B16 tranny.........

Default GSR or B16 tranny.........

ive searched but couldnt find any hard evidence on which is better.
my tranny took a ****, and i am going to purchase one tomorrow. i have the choice of a GSR or a B16 tranny for the same price , whice one would you recommend?? i am going to have the car tuned soon and i am shooting for 450-500whp if that helps

Go with an LS. Its the best for boost because of longer gears.

GSR because youd be killing the b16 tranny with boost

Drag racing? b16, acceleration? b16.

Top speed runs? gsr (well actually LS, but you only gave the choice of gsr and b16)

BTW 1st and 2nd are both the same. The FD's are different.

How did you not find any info on the trannys? There is tons of infor about them on HT.

Neither tranny will rob power, nor make more power than the other.

B16 worked great for me and still kept me in 4th gear at the end of the 1/4 mile with 24.5" slicks on it..

1st gear is the only gear that's the same between GSR and b16. 1st and 2nd are the same between LS and GSR. go with a b16 if you want all out acceleration and a quicker car. If you want a nice compromise beetween and LS and b16, go with the gsr, still a nice quick gear ratio'd tranny just not as short.
