Power Steering Questions
A friend's 91 DX hatch has power steering in it. She's keeping it for now, but we're going to do a ZC engine swap on it in the near future. Questions Are:
01. Can the Power Steering Motor fit on the ZC motor in a USDM Bay?
02. If not, is the steering the same as non-power hatchs?
I'm worried that if we can't keep it with the ZC and we pull it out, that it will be reaaallly hard to turn. It seems slightly more difficult than my 88 STD (when car is off) but she has much wider tires. And I can't test while moving and on for obvious reasons.
Also along with this swap is going to be a auto2manual conversion. This car's gonna be a bitch I think...
Thanks for any help!

If you can bolt the bracket to the ZC it will work.
I'm pretty sure it will or it will come VERY close to fitting and will only require a little grinding to the bracket here and there.
I know the DOHC should have power steering option available to it since the motors were offered in the JDM 4 door with all the other bells and whistles.
I would figure the power steering was on the SOHC ZC's as well.
Just check the front of the motor for the bolt holes.
If you don't have the motor yet I'm sure you can find pics of it on the net.
I am running my 91 LX power steering bracket on my D16Z6.
Minor grinding was needed on the bracket to clear some of the motor webbing.
I'm a little confused as to what you are asing in your second question.
The steering components are not the same as the non-power hatches - that's obvious.
You would need to swap steering racks to convert the P/S car to a non-P/S car.
You could loop the hoses temporarily, but expect the rack to go bad over time.
