D15: blocks and tranny's CHEAP
Here's the deal:
I've got a D15 with 211K, fresh rebuild, excellent condition, runs GREAT. Daily driven right now. 4spd manual (third gear needs to be replaced as does the sync going into it). It sits in a 91 Civic hatch.
I'm about to buy an 89 Hatch D15 5spd standard. Mileage...can't remember exactly, but I believe it to be between 170 and 200K. Does run, will start, BUT! TWO cylinders are bad. It appears to have the same problem as my D15 (listed above) of which I rebuilt. Will be sold fixed or not fixed depending how you want it. The 5spd from how it drove from the location of purchase to my friends house (where it currently sits) it did not grind or have any problems.
I'm also about to buy an 88 CRx. Again, D15 block, 5spd trans. Buying from a friend. He started it up and it fired after turning the block only like...twice. He rebuilt it and he says he drove it fro a while til he got back on his bike. 5spd runs fine and so does the engine 207K on it.
Finally, I have a D15 block TRANSMISSION ONLY. 5spd. Bought from a private dealer south of me. I haven't run it, I bought it to install on my current 4spd. Never got to it as I figure it better to just wait til I get my frankenstein engines in. According to the gentleman it ran fine.
Again, all the stated above is to the best of my knowledge. I will send you videos or allow you to see it in person if you'd like. However, this would require me time to pull the block out for you. I REALLY don't want to ship, but I can possibly meet you part way from whereever you come from. No prices on any above, but if you're interested, get in touch and make an offer. I don't want much cuz I just wanna get rid of them to help build an LS bottom with 16head buildup. I'll even mix/match, I just wanna be rid of them. Possibly trade my block and cash for your B16 or 18 if you have one to free yourself from.
