I was at my friends house for no more than two hours and some one tried breaking into my type r. They tried popping my hood and pry the window open. I heard my alarm go off and they were gone once I got outside. In the same night two of my friends had their stuff broken into. Just giving people heads up, it seems like these guys go on streaks every now and then.

 

Winter is around the corner and they need a project :angry:

When you go to a movie and your car is missing what good was it to get a gun for car protection? If you had a gun and noticed someone was breaking into your car would you have the ***** to run outside and endanger your life assuming the thief themselves isnt carrying a piece.

And also in the event of pulling out a gun w/o the intent to use it now you have to watch your back everywhere you go because they went and got a used gun off the street and may come back and hurt someone you love.

That's what you pay insurance for, sure you get dicked for your hard work and some little ****** gets to reap what you soe. I think its bullshit and I refuse to let some thief walk off with my ****, its been broken into 3 times and then stolen twice... thats right not once but twice and I still have that ************. Thieves are stupid little bitches that wait until the night to do something to your ****, every theft attempt on my car happens at 1 or 2 in the morning the last attempt was at 6 am. Owning a gun isn't about being macho. You must have missed my first post in this thread where I put a 'thumbs down' at the end of my sentence, which would have indicated that I wasn't looking foward to doing that and possibly having to use it. If you own a gun for this reason then your setting yourself up for prison time. Owning a gun for me is about growing up around them, being comfortable around them, knowing how to use them, knowing my legal and Constitutional rights, and being smart about it.

I'm a little tired of the hardass talk about beating up/shooting/etc theives. I have insurance - and I dont sit and watch my f-ing car out the window. On top of that, I find the references to guns to be quite irresponsible. It's for self defense, not for bragging, and I highly doubt anyone buys a gun SOLELY to protect their car, lol.

Regardless of anyone's background - people are VERY influenced for some reason on H-T.com and I find it very irresponsible to promote guns for something like protecting your car. How can you protect your car with a gun unless you are a) on your roof 24/7 b) peeking out a window 24/7, c) in your car. Cars disappear because you aren't around, so again, what purpose does a gun serve in protecting a car?????

You are absolutely right about the influence issues on here. My only statement to that is, I'd rather these kids read online that there is some guy who owns a gun and is level headed about it than learn it off some shoot em up movie on TV . I've taken tons and tons of gun classes all of which every owner should do. Remeber that kids!!!!

For me, I mainly bought a gun because I've always been around them. It was purchased for recreation and for protection. A lot of my friends are female and every now and then one of my five!!! sisters (no IM's for pictures, bitches )comes to visit for an extended time. I feel I as a man, I have an obligation to myself and my parents to protect them. Also like I said I'm completely legal. I have all the proper carrying permits and licenses . I keep the gun stowed away from children when they are at the house , and put it away if someone feels uncomfortable around it .

If someone is sitting on the roof 24/7 or at their window with a gun in their hand...they have issues. Fortunately for me, my caR is twenty feet from my bedroom with a loud *** alarm.

What good does a gun to for my caR when I'm no where around it? That answer is more self defense related than car related. That is where the car insurance comes in. If I'm at home or near my car and can prevent a theft, I will. I gaurantee anyone would try to stop it.

I will try to search this out in your post but I doubt I will find where you can pin point that. I know everything about how my car can be stolen, I also know what my car is worth in its current state and I know what my car is worth stolen. I dont have 30k invested into my car like some of you ballers but I have enough invested to care, and I have enough measures to where if I get caught slippin with my pants down a thieve isnt going to get his dick in my *** if you feel what im saying bro.

My car was broken into while I was in a club, I didnt let the **** do it. It was my fault for parking it where it was and thieves trying to steal a stock stereo. I have measures to make sure the car stays where it is unless its put on a flatbed, and if that does happen I have measures for the car to be tracked. Just like the first time it was stolen at 2 in the morning, and I was actually awake when it happened I heard it drive off and thought it was the usual ricer in the street racing area reving at my car while seeing it parked outside. My bro then told me it was my car going up the street *doh* car was recovered in 20 minutes. Second time around was a bit more hillarious as the thief didnt get it 6 feet away from my house.

If I knew some thief who was taking my car and I knew what I would be making off that car from insurance plus money from my own stolen parts I cant really say im the moron, just not honest. Its the fact that you poured sweat and tears into the car and insurance can never replace that, but its a hobby and thats the point. You should never be rewarded for that aspect of your love for cars by anyone else but yourself.

If I were Brando I'd do the same thing. I have my cars locked in the garage with two mean dogs that like to let me know when people walk by in the night. Barring that set of deterrents I will protect myself, my family, and my belongings as necessary in whatever way I see fit. I know the law and I will use it to my advantage.

At the same time when it comes down to it one should remember that it's only a car after all. Cars are replaceable. People aren't.

I read the forum because I guess I still have hope that there are more intelligent people than non-intelligent people. Sometimes I'm not so sure.

My issue is that sometimes responsible people (sounds like you in the case of your reasons/choice to have firearms) might say things to less informed members who might make some uninformed decisions. Personally I dont want to be responsible for someone else making a decision because *I* led them to believe it was feasible, a good idea, safe, etc.

On top of that. In the past, there has been a LOT of postings of guns and 'tough guy' crap from people who a) do not have guns b) aren't going to beat up an 8 year old let alone a theif and c) like to make jackass comments. Other peopel seemed to think it was a good idea, and its become a 'stock' response to theft threads.

Safety is #1 with guns and I think that anyone who posts about them needs to do as you did in your previous post, discuss WHY they have it and the responsibility of owning one.

You just can't draw a gun in public nor can you think that a theif might not have one also! if you aren't going to use it or aren't prepared for the consequences, having one might not be a good idea. In this forum of all ages, sometimes I think people get all excited and do as others do without thinking for themselves. I guess that's darwin....

You made my point - guns are for self/family/house defense and NOT car related defense.

Sometimes I think people mistake the reason for owning a gun, that is my issue. A web board like this with a reasonably close knit community should not endorce unsafe/irresponsible ideas... bandwangoning of ***** like that is REALLY bad on here.

If I have a gun, which I do as well I am not going to go running out of my front door with it in my hand unless I plan on shooting someone and making sure they are dead, because im not going to risk someone else getting hurt by a wounded thief who is going to try and protect themselves from me assaulting them.

Now if I run out and try to scare the theif and they give me the indication they want to defend themselves over the car I have been provoked and in this case I have a right to defend myself... But with your adrenilin flowing who knows what will happen.

But im not going to try and brag about the fact I have guns and im willing to protect myself, it doesnt need to get to that level. If they want it take it like I said I would get more money from insurance for the car than I would selling it. But they will have to outthink me first. I think at that point if you went through all of that trouble to take my car I think you deserve it lol. Let it be as much trouble for you as it is for me.

You call 911 and say send cars out here now someone is on my property trying to steal one of our vehicles and I have a gun in my hand and im going to shoot this ************ dead... usually the cops will show 2 hours earlier this way =/

If only my parents garage didnt have my brothers 600rr in it and my fathers crx which thieves broke into in it I guess I wouldnt have to worry about it being parked outside... Then again when the car is with me an armed guard is watching is so im not too worried about it dissapearing when its home.

Thats what I simply tried to get across in the first place, as I stated as long as you have taken all of the precautionary measures needed to prevent the car from being stolen in the first place or at least for it to be recovered then you have done your end and if you need to exceed that dedication by means over and above whats necessary then you need to do what you need to do.

I will stop spamming this post these replies are getting too long lol. I dont condone what thieves do and I dont support it one bit, but I get fucked to insure my car and my mods every month for a reason
