Something really funny but awfully weird to my teg
So I'm on my way to work this morning and I'm making a hard tight left to go on to a street. All of a sudden my wipers come on! I didnt touch the wiper switch at all. The wipers just kept going and going, I played with the switch put it in the on position and then turned it off but the wipers kept going. So I pull off the main road to a residential street to pull the fuse. So I make a hard right and they just shut off. Obviously this must be an electrical problem but where do i look? Also, when I'm cruising along at night and I have my lights on, my instrument panel lights shut off, then when I come to a stop, they turn on again. Suggestions please.
sounds like it MIGHT be a grounding issue... when i had a grand am back in the day (wayyyy back), the dufus who installed my stereo (me) hooked the ground wire up to a live wire. not only did my stereo have problems, but all the interior lights would shut off at random times, my driving lights wouldn't come on, and my window switches had to be jumpered in order to function. fixing the ground made everything but the window switch issue go away... never did figure that one out.
anyway, time to get out the helms and a multimeter and check through your fusebox and what not for a short.
that's about all the (dubiously) useful information i can give you.
good luck
oh yeah, sorry to be off topic, but what happened to the beer icon?

ahh. nevermind - just not something you can pick. i guess h-t doesn't want to promote mixing beer with cars.
good luck again, my friend.

best bet is to check all the wires under the dash, or if you have time to swap out the whole wires loom whatever.. but you have to take out the dash...its fairly easy, just time consuming.. and yea check the 3 main plug, that plug into the = fuse box under the dash.
you need a new hamster to spin the wheel. Old Gus is getting tired.
grounding as said before sounds like the prob...I had issues with my old car stalling out cause of a dirty ground
