parts for the gsr
I have a 96' gsr, the bottom end was rebuilt w/ srp pistons bored 30 over. Besides that, the car is stock. I was looking into doing a few bolt ons and wanted to know if there is a big difference in the quality of parts ( intakes, header, and so on) I know the aem v2 cold air intake is quit popular, along w/ the dc sports headers. Can I still get good performance gains going w/ cheaper products, or should I spend the extra money for the top brands? Should I go cold air, or ram? 4-1 header, or 4-2-1? I want to improve my bottom end power in the low RPMs. And suggestions are apprieciated.
honestly dont get cheep on urself, enough said. Just set some goals and search a little bit on the whole header situation i know we have covered the topic a ton. personally there isnt that HUGE of a difference between the dc 4-1 and the 4-2-1. i had the 4-1 1 peice for a time and i was satisfied with it entirely.
I found out that pretty much the 4-1 headers were for more power in the higher rpms, and the 4-2-1 is for more torque in the lower rpms. I'll probably go w/ the 4-2-1 because i want to improve my lower rpm power, and more torque would be nice. With the intake...I think the aem v2 is too much buck for the bang, so I'll probably either custom make my own, or go w/ a cheaper model.
