Default boosting only 6-8 on stock engine w/ stock inj...probs?

...i plan on going Z6T, with a custom kit, 14b cx mani, a 12:1 FMU, 2.5 piping with just a side mount *mounted as a fmic* .... i have looked on other boards.. some people say i should run 450cc inj... or someother stuff..i think i would be fine with my stock ones... correct...?

...maybe i didnt search long enough.. someone always finds something... but im sorry. i looked long and hard.. many different boards... yes turbod15, hmt, d series, here and chb.com.

You can run stock injectors with an FMU, but your fuel pressure will be really high and your injectors will probably be maxed out. It's probably a better idea to upgrade to some 450cc injectors and get good fuel management (uberdata, hondata, aem ems, etc...).

If you got the money get the DSM 450cc's with an Apexi VAFC and run the hack but the FMU with stock injectors can hold up to 6psi.

I would rather run the afc setup than the FMU (if those were the only choices), but you have to remember to do something about the ignition retard since the afc advances your timing quite a bit. A MSD btm would be a good idea also if your going with the afc.

yea i would run the hack to...it just depends if he wants to spend that much. also the MSD btm would be a good thing to get too, so you can adjust your timing.

The btm isnt going to help much with the afc since its still advanced way to far..
Go here for a thread that I made about a way to fix the afc ignition problem..

No FMU, just the afc and 450's... You also need to do something about your ignition too.

i think the fmu will work for 6-8psi, but it really isn't gonna be that great of a setup. Instead of doing the hack I would just chip your ecu and go with uberdata...its probably cheaper in the end anyways. The stuff to chip the ecu is only like $15 for the components to be soldered, $6 for a chip, and $80 for a rom burner. Thats less then an afc costs.

yea, i wouldnt bother getting an afc. not worth the money. so chip ur ecu and run a rom editor, for half the money. or stick with the FMU.

At 6psi on the hack you'd be running mid-map on the stock ECU, meaning ~30 degrees advance under boost. You really don't want to touch the hack except at 10psi.

Chip the ECU + join the dark side

:/ well i guess till i can find someone near here...who can tune my car for cheaper than some guys i have asked... ill prolly go uberdata and get rid of the fmu...

but untill then, its the 12:1 fmu with stock injectors only at 6-psi (hopefully with a vafc) if i can afford it soon
