Default My new Winter beater. Its time to put away the R.

1993 GMC 350, 4x4, stick shift, 150,000 kilometers runs perfect.
The R is going into acura on Wed. to try and find out why it went throught 18L of oil in 5000k with new head, so hopefully I get new motor on warranty+ some work on the tranny. I only have 1000k's left on the warranty so that's it for this season. Its going to hurt not being able to drive her for 6-7 months.

Nice truck! Curious, how much were you able to get it for? Around here, I see ads like this:

"1980 Chevy pickup, runs, $4000"

I got the truck for $5800 CND tax inc. cert. e-tested. And it will probably be cheaper on gas then the R with kenji p28
I got it from a friend of a friend who is a wholesaler, he got it from an auction for $4500. So good deal for me I think.

Is that an Alberta truck? How many rock chips on the windshield?

But its not as bad as the beater i bought only last week...its a mighty Citreon AX (massive 4cyl 954cc motor) It does 55mpg and has rubber bands for suspension, but its saves winter mile on my ITR and it gets me about, even though its at a snails pace.

(not my actual car as i couldnt be bothered to photograph it...but similar)

i got my 4 nasty snow tires and im ready to RAWK the snow IN MY R!!!!

thats right! for the first time EVER in her life, the R is seeing the snow!

not a dent or scratch or mark or fingerprint on my baby, but because my dads an ******* and i cant afford a beater, the R is seeing the nasty New Hampshire winter!

oh ya, i forgot to mention, my car is also lowered......

oh well, i drove my GSR which was even lower in the snow without a single problem. Mud flaps help

Yes, absolutely.

Most of the tracks in the northern United States still have a full schedule through the end of October.

I was at GingerMan a few days ago, and in a couple of weeks I'm going to the Glen.

I love threads when I get to post pics of Betty. 275k, all original engine and tranny, still running. Though she does need a new axle and throw out bearing.
