Default best tranny for ls

i have intake header high flow cat plugs wires exhaust and want more power. first im goin to need to get rid of the auto tranny though so let me know which tranny is good if i plan on goin ls turbo in the future. i jave decided against the lsvtec because i hear it isnt that fast and turbos seem like they are more fun to play around with.

turbo engines have no ceiling on potential, the best tranny for your ls engine is an ls tranny

1. taller gears are better for FI where you have a fat powerband
2. you will spend more time in boost and less shifting

however
1. open differential and it is harder to find a lsd for it

you sound new to modifying cars. if this is the case, i wouldn't do a turbo setup for a while. and its not really worth converting an auto tranny car to a manual. its harder to do that than it is to swap a whole motor. too many stupid parts involved. i know this prob isn't what you wanna hear, but you'd be better off starting out with a car that came with a 5 speed.

for a turbo setup, an LS tranny is pretty good. a GSR tranny isn't that bad either, but 4.2 final drive is a bit better for a turbo car, especially if it makes good power. if you heard LS/vtec isn't that fast, you were misinformed. LS/vtec, like any motor, is what you make of it. it could be fast or it could be slow. just like a turbo car. true, a turbo will net you more power overall, but everything has its pros and cons. i personally like N/A hondas better. if you think a turbo is more your style, then do that. but its pretty damn fun to rev a car engine to 10k! (tho i wouldn't try that with an LS crank)

geez, this answer is no help whatsoever. that comment is insanely generic, and includes all but one of honda's many different B series trannies, excluding the bastard B series that came in 3rd gen preludes.

congratulations, you've narrowed the choices down to atleast 7 different transmission options!

You are wrong. That is one of the oldest myths. GSR tranny is better for boost than ls. Shorter gears, means better acceleration. The whole "staying in boost longer" is bogus info.

and YOU are right. the GSR tranny is the perfect tranny for boost. the LS tranny is a horrible choice for anyone trying to get performance out of their car. when will these people learn?
