Better times at night or in the day?

What are the ups and downs of racing in the night and in the day? Also which will net you a better time?

Anyone? My friend insists that racing in the day will net a better time. Anyone have any input?

The colder the air the more dense, so you should get better results at night since it's cooler.

Kinda depends.. Usally at night I get a little better times but also I get less traction since the track is cooler.. On the cool nights I burn my slicks a little longer to get them back up to temp..

Its all about elevation, atmospheric pressure, temperature and blah blah blah. The name of the game is tuning. But TYPICALLY a car will run much better at night. The air tends to be cooler and more dense.
